SAFETY

Gloves and ear plugs are to be worn throughout this operation.

Be careful of pinch points. Keep fingers clear at all times when the machine is operating.

WIRE FORMER START UP

1.Make sure that all ovens are at correct temperatures.

2.Turn on the Wire Former.

3.Wait for the console screen to come on.

4.Release the emergency stop.

5.Press the reset button.

6.Press on the system reference icon on the screen.

7.Once system reference taken is green press automatic start.

SETTING UP WIRE FORMER

. Load wire onto swift using forklift.

. Ensure there is no wire in the wire straightner.

. Straighten +/- 500mm of wire , manually feed it through the rollers.

. Push wire manually up to sensor.

  

. Press required buttons as indicated below.

   

. Loosen up the middle bolts for the two dyes to allow the wire to move freely.

   

. Tighten the middle bolt and check that the wire has formed a "v" shape.

   

. Press wire forward and ensure that there is a 5mm gap between the wire and stopper.

   

. Press the start button to allow the wire to move out from the wire cutter.

WIRE FORMER SHUT DOWN.

1.Press the stop button.

2.Wait for forming processes to stop.

3.Press emergency stop button.

4.Turn power off.

QUALITY POINTS.

1.No rusty wire.

2.Right size of pin to be used (8mm)

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

1.Visual inspection of wire.

OVEN START UP

1.Disable emergency stop.

2.Make sure that heaters switches number 1,2 and 5 are on.

3.Make sure the convery switch is on.

4.Make sure that the fan switches are on.

5.Press the run button on the converyor speed control panel.

6.Swich on the second converyor by pressing start button.

QUALITY CHECKS

The following checks should be performed:

  • Do not force the part into the checking fixture.
  • Ensure wire/ parts are not rusty.

OVEN SHUT DOWN

1.Press emergency stop button.

2.Switch off the second conveyor by pressing the stop button.

REJECTS

  • All reject parts are to be placed immediatley in the red reject bins provided.
  • All rejects should be logged on the system hourly. 

Scrap / Reject bins are to be emptied at the end of end job or at the end of shift if the job is running at the end of shift

PERFORMANCE TARGETS

Once the job has been logged on the system, you will be able to see the production figures and targets including

  • The Total Qty made against the job
  • The quantity prodcued on the shift (day),
  • The Std Time and the number of Parts required to be made per hour.

The picture to the left provides and example.

Production figures are to be logged on the system every hour.
